A Crib for Two

I brought Myles with me when I went to get Nora up in the morning.  Instead of wanting to get out of her crib she wanted Myles in.  And they spent a good amount of time together in there.  I absolutely love seeing the bond already starting to grow between brother and sister.

Myles and Nora

Nora points out his ears (again)
Myles moves to the mobile. He loves that thing.

As soon as Dad got in the room it was snuggle
time for all three of them (the third being Guy, of course)

There's one of those smiles again!

Mylestones: Smiling

Cue: Heart melting

It happened when he was just 7 weeks old.  We saw his first smile.

You could tell it was coming for at least a week.  He was practicing really hard until he finally did it.  This is the first one I was able to capture on film (can you even say "on film" anymore?)  Since then, his smile has gotten much bigger and more frequent so you can be sure you'll see more of his precious {and smiling} face to come.

Two Months Old

He's just two months old and he's...

moving a TON (maybe it's a boy thing but he is
one wiggly little guy - barely stops!)

cooing

slept through the night several times (although not consistently yet -
he generally wakes up around 4:30 to eat, then goes back down for a few hours)

I'm already convinced this 12 month
onesie must run small.

Our pal Freddie

Who's going in my pocket?

Yeah!  I'm 2 months old!!

Official stats:
height - 23 1/4 inches (55%)
weight - 12 lbs 4 oz (55%)

On Wisconsin!

Finally.  We got back to Camp Randall for a Badger game.  We've been trying to get our hands on some tickets for a few years now and this year things worked out.  We took my mom for an early birthday present.  The weather was perfect for football.  A crisp chill in the air made our hoodies feel beyond comfortable.  I was hoping for an afternoon game so we could take in the Madison's farmers market and lucky for me the game wasn't until 2:00.

After meandering around the farmer's market (which by the way, I bought the best pie of my life there... Pilgrim's Pantry's Bumbleberry Pie -- if I remember right it was a blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry pie. YUM!  I digress.) we headed over to the new Union and started to really get in the spirit of game day.

The marching band performed at the Union.

A sea of Badger Red.

On Wisconsin!

And here are your WISCONSIN BADGERS!

And of course the half time entertainment.

Needless to say, we all had a good time.  I vow that it won't be seven years in between this game and the next time we're there!  This city is infectious!  GO BUCKY!

Myles' Baptism

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19

After the 10:40 church service, Myles was baptized by Pastor Mark in front of our families.  He is now officially a member of the Lord's family!  And it's a great family to be a part of.

Moms & Tots

This morning, Nora and I went to the first of a six week class called Moms & Tots through church.  While Myles snoozed in the car seat...

Nora and I participated in lots of fun activities together.  It's taught by a mom who was a pre-school teacher before she quit to stay home with her girls.  She was great!  We started off with rug time where we sang songs and danced.  Because it's through our church, the songs were about God.  I'm telling you, it was really nice to sing songs about our bodies AND God, something you don't get through the Park District classes. (our bodies was today's theme - next week... pigs!) It made me excited knowing this is the message she'll be getting all day long once she's in school since she'll be going to St. Paul.  Nora started off kind of shy but slowly began dancing and doing the motions with the others.

Next, was exploration time where we went from numerous stations.  Nora was quite comfortable by then.  She headed off to the painting station before I could even get up!

With her smock on, she was ready to paint.

I love this picture but it kind of makes me sad.  She's
growing up SO quickly.

Her masterpiece now hangs proudly on our fridge.

From the painting station, we moved to the station with toys.  It's like they knew we were coming... they had SUNNIES! and microphones, and mirrors, and those sticks that you shake that make funny noises.

She used the microphone like chapstick.

Her bestie, Mal, is in the class too.

After that, we played with bubbles.

Oh... and the sunglasses didn't come off for the
remainder of the class.

And finally we colored a little girl.

Then it was snack time while Mrs. Young read a book.

I did awesome at class.

The BIG Three O

Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!

We love you SOOO much that we had to wake you up this morning to give you your card and present!  Even though we knew you were awake already, it sure doesn't look like it in this picture.  Happy birthday!  Your 30's are going to be even more rockin' than your 20's, Daddio.  Love you dearly.

Mirror Me

One of Nora's favorite bedtime books is a Baby Einstein book called Mirror Me.  I took pictures of her "doing" every page. She cracks me up!  Each of the captions are the words on the corresponding pages of the book.

Bard can open his eyes big and wide.  WOW!
(She can't seen to open only her eyes)

Webster has a sunny smile.  Say cheese!

Look at Frog stick out his long pink
tongue.  Blah!

Cow puffs his cheeks full of air.
Puff and blow!

Jane makes a  super silly face.
Hello, Little Monkey!

Peek-a-boo, Baby Einstein.

There you are!

Packer Backer

Just because we're in Bear Country doesn't mean we're raising a Bears fan.  Quite the contrary.  This is a Packer household through and through!!  The Packers kicked off the 2011 NFL season tonight and Myles got to stay up late to watch his first game.

Wide awake for the beginning of the
game, all decked out in his football pjs.

What's the object of this game again?

Watching football is exhausting.
Time for the 3rd quarter nap.
