Three Months Old

Three months old and he's...

sleeping through the night pretty consistently.
* 7 hours *

smiling all the time!

on the verge of laughing - just hasn't quite figured it out yet.

drooling.

found his fingers (which explains the previous).

He would not keep his legs straight
for this picture!

What a great smile!

Straightest legs of all.  Because he
kept rolling his legs up the onesie
kept going up too so it's hard to see
that it really is still long on him.

Snapped the picture when he was still balanced upright.
It didn't last too long!

Proof that he's found those fingers.

Official Three Month Stats:
height - 24 inches (50%)
weight - 13 pounds 3 ounces (50%)

Slightly Supervised

I had to put some laundry away in Myles' room.  Nora wanted to put on some lotion (one of her favorite things).  So I opened the container of Udderly Smooth, brought her in by me and let her put on lotion.  I guess I got into a zone and didn't check how much she was getting as often as I should have because before I knew it, she looked like this.....

A love for lotion.

There are worse things.  Thanks for giving me a good laugh tonight, Nora!

Got Milk?

We do.  We have lots of milk.  There's always a cup with milk out for her.  And water too for that matter.  But she chooses to get her liquids from another source.

I've said it countless times recently and I'll keep saying it.  "Nora, don't drink from Rusty's bowl.  That's only for dogs.  Here's your cup."  Until then, I just have to laugh, roll my eyes, and get a picture of it.  These are the everyday things I don't want to forget.

Don't Leave Me Hangin'

Who know raking leaves could be so much fun?  Well, me either.  But playing in the giant pile of leaves sure is!  Plus it makes for a cute at home photo shoot.
We were trying to show her how to throw the leaves up
into the air but she wasn't quite getting the letting go part.

So then we tried to show her how to just shoot them up
in the air.  She did her own version by pushing them behind
her like a dog digging.  Props for giving it your all, Nora.

Cutest. kids. ever.

There's a blog I read that does this thing called
"Embrace the Camera".  The idea is to get the moms
out from behind the camera and be in pictures with your kids.
I'm gonna try to do more of that.

More "throwing" leaves in the air.

Her and that wink.  It's too much!

Happy Birthday, Gram!  We love you!

Barthel Farms

This weekend we headed back to Milwaukee to celebrate Dale's birthday.  We thought we'd take advantage of the fantastic, unseasonably warm weather and pick apples and pumpkins at Barthel Farms in Mequon.  Last year, Nora and I went to Apple Holler (oh my gosh, I just looked back at the pictures - she's so tiny!  And look at that bald little head) with a few friends of hers during the week.  Then, she sat in the stroller most of the time gnawing on the apples.  This year, it was fun to see her so excited about picking apples, running from tree to tree, grabbing apples, and putting them in the bag.  Dan and I are already looking forward to going somewhere next year that has hayrides.

"Look at this one, Mama!"

Rows and rows of beautiful orchard

First bites of a sweet apple straight from the tree.

Reaching high for the perfect apple.

Still working on the apple.  The perfect
size for her little hands.

"Look!  I climbed to the top of the ladder!"

Love this little lady.

One of my favorite pictures of the day.

Now onto the pumpkin patch --

Is this the right one?

Dan carrying Nora's pumpkin
back to the car.

This one is for my brother.

The yummiest part of the day.

Nora wouldn't let go of the caramel
apple.  If you wanted a bite, she would
have to hold on and even then, it
wasn't a very willing share. For the most
part, she just ate the caramel and nuts off.

I know this is a blurry picture but I had to include it.
Dan hands me this and says, "You can have the rest
if you want."  Gee, thanks!  Hilarious.

Enjoying a snooze in the cool grass on a warm day.

There are those beautiful blues

and a big smile for mama

Morton Arboretum: Take 2

Back in July, we had our first visit to the Morton Arboretum with Karen and Claire.  This was pre-Myles.  11 days pre-Myles to be exact.  We all had a good time but both agreed we wanted to come back after school was in session.  With the amazing weather this week, there was no better time to schedule our visit.  As expected, we loved it.  Much more leisurely this time.  I love taking pictures here.  Not only is the scenery beautiful but Nora seems to be the perfect size for everything in the Children's Garden.  Unfortunately my camera's battery died shortly after arriving but I still got some great pictures.  And something tells me there might be a third trip.
