Apple Holler

Wednesday, Nora and I drove to Apple Holler in Racine and met a few others there. Not much cuter than four babies in a pumpkin patch! We all had a good time and came away with some hand-picked apples.

The other girl in this picture is Mallory. She's been on here before -- daughter of my friend, Lindsay. The handsome gentleman is her cousin, Lincoln. He's a couple weeks younger than Nora. Lindsay, (her sister and mom of Lincoln) Steph, and I have been joking that Mal wanted to set Lincoln and Nora up so we've been calling this their first date.

The third little girl is Carrigan. She's the daughter of Lindsay's friend (a fellow Packer fan, I must add)

Nora LOVED the apples we picked. Now when I have an apple at home she gets excited and wants to share.

8 months

8 months -- we're closing in on double digits here... geesh. Well, we have a girl with TWO teeth as of today! Not that you can see any of them in these pictures yet. Nora has graduated from laying down to show off her outfits to sitting up, crawling away, and standing.

lays down and waits just long enough for me to take a picture

but it doesn't last long before she starts crawling away

and finds herself at the table.

and she's up!

tried to pick up Freddie this time

girly girl

We were spending some time outside when I thought I'd let her crawl around in the grass. I put her down and ...

she didn't budge. Only allowing one hand down at a time doesn't bode well for crawling. Guess she doesn't like the feeling of the grass. Is she always going to be a girly-girl?

End of Summer

We're just 10 days away from October and (even though there's a high of 87 tomorrow...) it's feeling more and more like fall. I was glad to see some pictures of Labor Day and very sunny weather still on the camera. I always miss summer when the weather gets cooler but I do love my hoodies! So cheers to the changing seasons.

I find her like this when she wakes up now.

One of my absolute all-time favorites.

flower power!

What a Week!!

First off -- Happy Birthday, Dan!! 29 years and counting. Glad to be spending these years with you! Alright, enough mooshy-gooshy stuff!

What a week it's been. Lots of big milestones for Nora! On Monday, she poked her first tooth through. (pictures to follow - when it's big enough to actually see in a photo)

She also started crawling. For a couple of days she would go a few paces and fall onto her belly. But today, she's all over!! SHE'S ON THE MOVE! Getting better and better. Maybe she'll give her Dad a birthday present when he gets home and let him see how good she's gotten.

We also had a friend over today. I met Christy and her daughter Clara at a library class Nora and I went to this summer. They came over and Nora decided to show off even more new tricks. She pulled herself to a stand using the coffee table. Note to self... Keep the coffee table clear. Plus, literally as I was writing this entry, Nora was squawking in her crib (trying to get her down for a nap) so I went to check it out... and she's STANDING! Now, while she has pulled herself to a stand from sitting in her crib, she had yet to figure out how to stand from laying down... until now. I just said to Dan this morning, it's hard to believe she's only been alive for 7 and a half months -- feels like much longer -- but when I think of everything she's learned in that short amount of time, I'm amazed! Can't wait to see what else she has in store for us.

Oh yeah -- how could I forget?! She also started giving us kisses last week. Best kisses I've ever received :)

Time to go do some baby-proofing!
